Impeller horizontal pumps KAN-Ex

designed for operation in explosion area

Application

Pumps type KAN – impeller, centrifugal, one-stage pumps, with horizontal axis of the shaft and closed impeller.

Pump unit type KAN-Ex are used in areas with explosion conditions, with explosion possibility of mixture air and gas, vapours or mist, which belong to zone 1 and meet the requirements for machine group II class 2, according to Directive 94/9/WE (ATEX).  Construction safety ensures the protection aganst ignition.

Pumps type KAN-Ex are used in production, processing and transportation of the chemically aggressive liquids, pure and slightly contaminated with solids.

The pump material  should be resistant to pumping liquid.

Max. Temperature and pressure in pump:

60°C (333K) by admissible pessure in delivery pipe 1,6 Mpa

100°C (373K) by admissible pessure in delivery pipe 1,3 MPa

200°C (473K) by admissible pessure in delivery pipe 1,0 MPa

300°C (573K) by admissible pessure in delivery pipe 0,88 Mpa

Working parameters and dimesions of the Pump KAN-Ex are the same like for series of types KAN.

Temperature grade

Temperature grade for pump type KAN-Ex depends on the type and temperature of pumping liquid, rotational speed of the pump and the type of packing and the shaft diameter.  .

An example of the temperature grade definition depending on the working conditions of the pump for following data:

Packing: double compact d=33 mm with buffer liquid

Process liquid: like oil; buffer liquid: like oil

Safety margin  5°C for grade T5; T4; T3 and 10°C for grade T2
